knoppix? for Dell laptop

I've got a Dell 5150 Inspiron with a Broadcom (4306KFB chip).
I tried using aeosol, but it says the card won't go into
promiscuous, so looks like windows is out (of luck that is).

Since I need to keep windows installed, and I don't have
much room on the Harddrive for a dual boot.

What is the best way to setup knoppix to using a linux
program to sniff. I'm trying to find the boundries around
my house, and just how long it will take to crack the WEP
encryption (I'm not running WPA yet, as all my PC's aren't
WPA compliant yet).

I'm look also for some file reconstruction to see how secure my
connections are as well.

What is the best live-cd / wifi sniff program combo to use for this?
and how much MB space on my windows HD should I allocate for
storage? (least amount). I have a 256mb USB drive I can clear out
and dedicate for this as well.

Thanks
GG
