Depends.. Atheros cards are generally 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b or 802.11a/b/g compatible.
If your card is 802.11b/g compatible and you need 11g compatibility, then it's a bad swap.
If your card is 802.11a/b compatible and you need 11a compatibility, then it's a bad swap.
If your card is 802.11a/b/g compatible and you need 11g or 11a compatibility, then it's a bad swap.
