At the risk of being off topic, I heard an excellent response to trolls and newbies that won't learn. Apparently there's a guy who patched his copy of vbulletin with a new "toad" feature. When a user is marked toad (from the old MUD usage), only that user sees his posts. To everyone else, he's invisible. It's like banning the offender, only he doesn't know it! After a few days in which no one responds to his offal, they usually fade away....
