Perhaps there is an equation/algorithm that can be used for the gain versus the relative position. This could not probably account for the unaccounted amplification of the transmitting devices that are stumbled upon. Though if enough of an area is mapped it may be possible to deduce where the epicenter of a tranmission is... and that is also if the amplified system is using one point of transmission. I will have to do some more research.
