It's way powerful.
I connected with an AP in my parents apt, about .7 miles away.
The AP is about 3 feet inside, through a window with a bug screen on it, and is surely low power (30mw, Compex WP11).
It was a complete pain though to open the card and solder the coax on -- in fact, I'm sure I did a lousy job, and will be purchasing a card with a connector on it (open to suggestions here).
