I'm not big on Apache, and I'm sure someone here can tell you the way to do it through that. But the easiest way to do it is using the Meta Refresh tag in the header of a page. I have some script that I use that passes hidden variables back and forth between pages as well, but that's probably overkill for what you're doing. Look up 'Meta Refresh'.
