Your WAN IP should be a real world address assigned by your ISP's DHCP server through the cable modem. Your cable modem effectively works as a bridge to the downstream router from there. If your WAN IP is not a real worl IP then that's a problem.

What's really frustrating about this, is that if I were there, I know that I'd probably have it fixed in about 5 minutes.
