Q: I have a number of different APs with the same SSID. I want to connect to a particular AP via NetStumbler. Can I force connection to a desired AP via NetStumbler?

A: No.

First, you cannot connect to any AP via NetStumbler, as NetStumber is NOT A CONNECTION MANAGER, AND DOES NOT CONNECT TO ANYTHING.

Secondly, no connection manager software that is compliant with the 802.11 Standard will force a connection to a particular AP. To do so would break ROAMING, a integral part of the 802.11 Standard.

There is a simple way to do this and to conform to the standard: Give different WLANs different SSIDs.
