No, you are correct. See thats the thing about Wifi, the 802.11 B, G, and all the other standards they are trying to get radified are in the 2.4 gig range.
Only the 802.11 A (which is rare to find in use) is 5.8 gig.

Thats why the WiSPy device is good to have when you are at a clients site and their wireless is not performing well.
