Kismet Power readings with Orinoco

Sometimes when I use gpsmap to try to draw a power interpolated map it says that there are no power readings in the .gps file I'm using.
I thought this had to do with the "iwpriv eth<n> monitor <mode> <channel>."
I was using "iwpriv eth0 monitor 2 6" which means, according to http://airsnort.shmoo.com/orinocoinfo.html, set eth0 into monitor mode with results returned in ARPHRD_IEEE80211 packets.
I got an error with gpsmap as stated above, so I tried to use "iwpriv eth0 monitor 1 6" with returns the monitor mode results in ARPHRD_IEEE80211_PRISM packets.
I was figuring that the power information was part of the PRISM packets.
I haven't yet read the actual packet structures (so a RTFM is appropriate here I guess).
So at first the files had power information, but my latest drive doesn't have power information.
My question is, which setting is correct for gathering power information along with the networks or is it just an alignment of the planets thing?
