Iv have been doing some research on antenna's and stuff (partly ceause im installing an outdoor longdistance link at work) and I was wondering what sort of distance you could get from a good high gain omni-directional antenna given optimum conditions, I know there are alot of things to factor in such as equipment used, pigtail, and so on but could someone give me a rough estimate of the sort of distances they would expect a 5DBi and 8DBi antenna to give them. Ordoes anyone have a linky to a site where I could calculate this myself.
