It was originally running W95. I wanted to go to 98, but didnt have it so I went to ME. I'd like to run 2K but even 2K Home wants 128MB RAM minimum and half my hard drive. That would mean having to pull off Office as well, which I may do, but that makes it a Stumbling only machine if all I can get on it is the OS and MapPoint.
My concern about Acer's support was more as a reflection on their quality as a whole, more so as it reflects on the stability of the hardware as opposed to actually getting help from them. I don't have a good long distance dialing plan anyways.
