Last Tuesday (7/16/02), I spent an hour and a half with a reporter from Fox 11 news
http://www.fox11la.com in Los Angeles. They had heard about the use of a Pringles can antenna to “hack” wireless networks. They had also heard of something call “Warchalking”. I spent some time with them explaining about wireless networks (802.11b) and explained how they work. We took a one our drive around Pasadena and I demonstrated the use of a tool called Kismet that finds 802.11b wireless network Access Points.
The show is scheduled to air on Sunday, 07/21/02 at 10pm (Pacific). On Los Angeles Fox channel 11. I have no idea how this will turn out so let me know what you think. Of course if there is bigger news tomorrow the show could be postponed.
The show is archived from
