I appreciate all the information. I have no idea about radiowave location whatever.
I am actually pretty interested in opening a WISP. But there are already a few here, and I want to know if people can just get into them. Namely, someone like me. Lots of computer experience, little with wireless arena.
AOL setup file was something to say to download. Can you even download it? Needless to say, if I ever wanted it, AOL sends in the mail, 10 cd's a month, and you can pick them up at every walmart in america, and tons of other stores. I don't need AOL to slow my 28 connection down anymore.
Thorn, I appreciate your answer, although there is quite a bit of hate in it. I haven't been in these forums more then 3 days, and have been searching hardware set ups mainly. Mr. Rabbit, again, thanks for the response. I know I completely stole this guys thread, sorry man.
Blackwave is who? A member here? That saying has been around decades longer then a member here. I strongly beleive in that saying as well.
I appreciate the n00b answers, and am finding most everything I need from searches. I have ordered a nice little orion gold card (sp) and am going to drive around here and see if there are many networks in the first place, and see about the WISP's and what they have securing their own networks.
I do know one thing about one of them, they are overamplifying their wisp, and are way out of the guidlines of the FCC
