1) no, the ipaq runs WindowsCE, specifically the PocketPC version.
i like ministumbling w/ the ipaq because it's more discreet and easier to deal with both in the car and walking.
2) the gain on the silver & gold are the same. it's the same h/w only diff is the f/w for 128bit WEP in the gold.
3) like the others said, omni is the way to go to find the AP's.
bws, yagi's are directional, not omni.
