Minimal laptop for NS?

A related question: Any recommendations on the smallest/cheapest/slowest/oldest laptop that will reliably run Netstumbler? I use 'dstumbler' (under FreeBSD) on an ancient Toshiba 4700, these go for under $100 on eBay.

I've tried NetStumbler on a 5-year-old Compaq mini-laptop with 4Mb of RAM running Windows 95, but I'm stuck at a couple of errors related to MFC42.dll:

In the case of 'dstumbler', I run the software and also do my customization (edit/compile/test) on an old 486DX2/50 laptop running FreeBSD. Neat to be able to fine-tune my netstumbling software by parking the car on the side of the road to compile and test changes to the source code.

Appropriately, this T4700CT latop was originally deployed as a 'Network General' sniffer station...
