As someone who has recovered a number of things from water, both electronic and otherwise, here is a method to follow should this ever happen to you:

1) Keep the gear wet. Preferably with the water it was immersed in. If that isn't possible, use tap water.

2) Remove it from the water bath only when you are ready for the next step. Remove any batteries at this time.

3) Immediately immerse in a bath of 70%-99% isopropol alcohol. Allow the alcohol to get everywhere the water is (was).

4) Air dry. A lab hood is great, otherwise a table fan will help.

5) When the gear is dry, replace the batteries with fresh.

6) Conduct smoke test. Be pleasently suprised when the gear comes back to life.

7) Send me a check for 10% of the gear just saved, for telling you all this.
