Thorn,

As someone who's good at fouling stuff up, along the same lines of your comment, I actually made the motorola wall of shame, plus I proved just how long a damaged pager would last after the infamous submersion test...

I was out fly fishing one hot summer day, and was standing in chest deep water (I'm 6'3), and all of the sudden I heard this pathetic submerged garbled chime, coming from below.... At first I thought it was my cell phone, but felt down and found it was my pager... I quickly removed the battery and threw it in my chest pocket. When I got home several hours later, I unscrewed the back of the pager and put in on the broiling tray of my gas oven... NO! I didn't turn the burners on!! However, this oven has a pilot light that stays lit all the time and I kept it in there for 24 hours... Next day, I threw a new battery in and the pager worked fine.

I was so proud and impressed with this pager that I wrote motorola and shared this little "nugget of joy" and they replied that they posted my message on their "wall of shame" which was reserved for "idiot users"...

Well I supposed I deserved that as it was pretty stupid of me to forget it.
