What type of software were you intending on using, btw, what you are talking about is Networking 101... also if you can access your files && you don't know what you are doing, then chances are I will be able to access your files as well, same with anyone else who happens to run across your box.... I suggest you take a class or read a tut on how to set up your favorite OS to operate as a server on the live internet... the first few times it gets 0wn3d don't hate yourself.. it happens to a lot of people that pop out of a box.... i would suggest that you only have VPN connections with certificate logon... and install ssh on your client box...
