The MAP\database simply shows access pojnts. NO indication as to whether or not they're "open" is made. I'm not even sure the dB is displaying whether or no encryption is being used. I think that allowing zooming would be a VERY good idea, particularly if it oculd be overlayed with a street map. The purpose wouldn't be to show what points are open but rather where WAPs in general are located. I've submitted mine, it's wide open (for now), I've got no problems with that. NetStumbler simply locates things, no biggie. I DO wish that we could do a little DF - as things stand now I believe the database is simply showing where things were picked up and not attempting to determine where they'e actually located. that's a much more complicated task thugh and would require much more data and data correlation....
Hrm, perhaps make the database available for download so that some enterprising person could refine the dataset further? since they're accepting summary inputs though I'd expect that a GREAT deal of data is being discarded. Bummer...
