Is this DOS pure 386/486 or V86 mode? (See attached picture of trying to load linux from the command prompt.

BIOS. There should be an entry for Boot Order or something similar. Try "A:, CD, C:" if it has the option. That way it will check the floppy, then CD and then finally the hard drive.

Anyone know a generic way of doing this? I know most pc's display an output on boot before the OS loads but mine doesn't. It just displays the manufacturers logo.
