I have a Compaq W200 Multiport card that I'm trying to get to work with NetStumbler. The FCC ID is IMRWA1000, and according to the FCC page, the applicant is Agere. There is much info including pics at the
FCC exhibits. (Note the PDF's there are not viewable in Acrobat Reader, but work fine in GhostView+Ghostscript.) The internal pictures show a chip that, in the photo, appears to be a HERM CD10827A. It therefore appears to use the Hermes chipset. It connects to the computer using what appears to be a standard USB protocol but with a very unstandard connector. Windows XP device manager treats it the same as the other USB ports. NetStumbler reports the card as being installed using NDIS 5.1, but claims that it's not functioning. Of course, it works fine in Windows XP. Any suggestions on how to get it to work with NetStumbler?
Oh, by the way, note the external antenna jack in the internal photos. The FCC response seemed to object to the presence of this jack, but it's still there in my card. Removal of a little plastic would afford easy access to it.
