I have a local ISP, and use an external antenna on my roof.
From more digging, I think they configured my AP for a fixed rate. Therefore, I don't think I can get around it.
It seems to go fast in short bursts, but if I download a large file the speed slows down after about 10 seconds.

Now, I'm trying to get a Lucent White card in my laptop to talk to my desktop to see if I can share internet access.
