Successful config:

Dell Latitude 500
linksys wpc11
WinXP home edition

Works great so far, although I havent gone wardriving yet, and using netstumbler renders normal internet access unavailable, even after I exit netstumbler. Restarting the computer takes care of this problem. Im not sure if reseting the network connection would have the same effect.
