Dell Inspiron 2650

XP SP1

Cisco 350

Aironet Client Utility 6.x

350 firmware 4.25.30

NDIS 5.1

here's the weird part - you can use the ACU 6.x, but it will load the newest firmware upon doing so, so you must then flash the 350 with the 4.25.30 firmware immediately after selecting the driver - you can check the firmware version using the "Status" button in ACU 6.x

i was unable to get this setup to work any other way with XP and the 350, including going back to the older versions of ACU.

now, i'm a happy camper (er, driver)
