I like the idea of being able to move the GPS from system to system as well. I looked at the Pharos one and the Navman, but they seem too confining.
Also, I get much better singal reception when i throw my GPS on the dash (unless the top is down). With the cable pinout that i described earlier (ala Blackwave (the MAN!!
), it works reall well, without too much cabling getting in the way.
Not to mention, once I get one of those tablet pc's, i can use it on there too.. Hopefully they're internal cards will work with MS, otherwise I'll use the same Orinoco Gold I have already.
