Read my commants above regarding the sound.

As for the drivers, I have the EXACT I mean the EXACT setup and I have no issues.
Try and do this, as root:

# ifconfig <eth1 or eth0> down

Then install the patched drivers.

For a quick test, pop the wifi card out, then wait a sec or two, pop it back in, then you should see the LED come on, do the :

# iwpriv

and see if it's working

tried lots of things to install the patched drivers. Be warned, I haven't ever done anything like this before. (I am usually happy with a basic linux install) Monitor mode would not work. Getting the no private ioctls in kismet and when running iwpriv I do not see monitor listed. However, I have decided to try another route. I just reinstalled with pcmcia kernel support turned off. (I'm trying to avoid recompiling the kernel) and I'm going to install pcmcia-cs-3.2.1 and the orinoco patched drivers now.

Please note: I am open to other ideas if you have any. It's easy for me to reinstall. I am enjoying all the learning I am doing.

I am very interested in the solution for sound support. If anyone has any links.

Thanks! JF
