I use 2.4.18 and my orinoco_cs works perfectly. I even pulled the experimental wavestumbler code form the 2.4.17 patch and put it into my 2.4.18 and it worked. perhaps you need to edit your /etc/pcmcia/config and replace wvlan_cs with orinoco_cs for the lucents. If your using RH7.2 then you are setup with an older kernal that used wvlan_cs instead of orinoco_cs.
