Charging for weekly wireless access???
We are looking in to offering internet access through the local cable modem provider to short term rental homes. The problem is the billing. We were thinking of having it so that the rental properties would be equipped at all times for internet access through a wireless router. The rental company would then add that cost to the weekly cost of the property. That way they pay the monthly fee for service and the house is equipped whether the client wants it or not.
However, we would like to be able to offer it on a weekly basis. The customer comes in and loads a browser and gets a secured page that asks for CC info. They enter that info and get internet access for a week. The problem with that is that there would need to be a server somewhere between them and the internet, most likely at the head-in. Not a big deal but definitely a PITA.
Pretty much I'm just looking for thoughts on this as it could be a good monthly income if it is put in enough homes. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
