ok, months later, i'm back on this again.

seems you need the drivfers from 2.4.19 kernel - and knoppix-std .1b has 2.4.20 kernel.

i went through all the cardtype options, but never could get it into RFMON mode.

i'm now going to try recompiling the drivers on knoppix-std and see where that goes...
