Yes GPS is supported via an optional serial cable that attaches to the bottom of the unit. (USB cable comes with the unit /serial is like $14 on their website)

Mchale, my unit came with PPC2002 installed, but I was also sent a CD so that I could flash back PPC on with the aid of a PCMCIA flash card that I have. (They sent me the CD because of a problem I had with an original unit, the problem was self-inflicted ;-) )

My guess is that if you ask they (UR There) will send you one too, then no-worries if you want to play with Linux on the PPC!
