From all the reports and reviews I've read:
1. Flavor doesn't matter. There's nothing in a Pringle that absorbs or reflects around the 2.4 ghz band. If there were, would you really want to be eating them?
2. In fact, the Pringles can itself isn't all that great of a medium for the antenna, it's just that it's the right size. The so-called metal lining inside the can has such a small percentage of metallic elements that it doesn't reflect enough signal to be usable.
3. The type of tubing you use inside the can does not really matter at all. People are just using copper or aluminum tubing because it can be picked up at any hardware store, or anywhere that has plumbing supplies. All you need is something rigid enough to hold the washers in the right place. The washers are really the important part in this antenna. The spacing is what tunes the antenna to the frequency. Thick plastic tubing or even really tought straws can also work in a pinch.
