I'm using an Avaya Silver with a pigtail and some no-name omni magnet mount (I'm really unhappy with this antenna but it's better than nothing). I run a KDS laptop ($1200 from office depot) and a Garmin GPS ][+.

I bought the laptop because it had a serial port so I could escape carrying a dumbass usb->serial port thing.
