For general use, get a G card. Choose one that is listed in the thread for cards known to work with NetStumbler. Cards that reportedly WORK with NetStumbler 0.4

If you want one for NS use only, then the best is still the ORiNOCO Classic.

Maybe. You're essentially talking about two different functions. You will have to switch between the use inside (WLAN via the WAP54G) and outside (the antenna on the rotator.) If that is OK, you'll need to get a NIC with an antenna connection, a pigtail, coaxial cable (feedline), coax connectors, the antenna, mast and rotator. You also need coax tools for attaching the connectors, as well as a good soldering iron. All told you're talking 200 - 500 pounds for all that, over and above the costs for the AP and NIC.

Suggestion: Start off slow. Get the WLAN going. Once you've played with that, and have learned a bit about how wireless networking actually works, then decide if you want to make the investment for the other kit.
