signal strength script?

I am new to wireless networking in the first hand, although I've done a lot of fox hutning in ham radio, so this is a nice tool that I've found to play with. However, I'm also trying to determin if my own AP is having problems... it seems, according to net stumbler, that after letting it run for awhile that a "fake" AP with mac 00000000000 that has my networks ssid pops up. I have not yet corrolated that to my own network.

Basically what I am wondering is there anyway to log perodically the signal strength of my own network (as well as appeareances/dissaperances) and of the rouge. I'm just hoping my AP isnt deciding to reboot itself sporaticaly.
