i think this is about the time that carrier pigeon technology comes in. they don't break down, they'll always fly home, and it doesn't involve flushing hundreds of dollars in equipment down the toilet! besides, carrier pigeon technology is currently voted about equally as promising as 802.11b itself by netstumblers. =)
