Wow Thorn, that was more useful information that I could shake a stick at. I liked your comparison to the Arecibo dish. Very cool. Are you in the search for E.T., too? hehe
As for the conversation at hand...Yeah, LMR400 is pretty much the standard of everything I've seen used, esp. in pigtails which I have quite a few of now. I guess if you were gonna run an antenna up to the roof, you may want to use something like LMR900, but from what Thorn says, that would get mighty expensive REAL quick. I don't even want to know how much that stuff costs a foot (too lazy to look it up).
I say get off yer but and actually stumble! It's no fun just playing w/ stuff in your own hope. This is unless you wanted some high gain antenna to link to another station in a legal type of way.
