Exactly why would one want to do this?

The truemobile 1150 is already recognized and directly supported in NS using native Orinoco functions. What more is there? Whats the incentive for doing this? Greater sensitivity? Access to "secret functions/settings"?

My reasons for asking are simple.. I just picked up another TM1150 yesterday and am enjoying being able to stumble again and see how the 2.4Ghz landscape has changed in the last month I've been "offline". I'm just wondering whats the story behind the hype?
It uses it's own client manager (an older version), and dell does not provide any firmware upgrades, and does infrequent software upgrades. Some applications will not work with the re-brands either because they look for the "Orinoco" name in the device.
