Ok I went through this myself on a WPC11 v3.0.

The answer is, if you want to do things through the linksys config software, make sure under properties you uncheck the USE WINDOWS TO CONTROL WIRELESS SETTINGS or whatever (under the network connection properties in the wireless tab). Once you do that, REBOOT. It should then work. I also manually disabled and stopped the Wireless zero-config utility service under administrative tools\services. Just to make sure.

Then all those other tweaking tabs showed up under linksys' manager. Mind you, if you enter a WEP key w 128bit encryption, you have to enter it HEX. You can't just click the misleading ASCII checkbox when entering your key: it won't accept it no matter what (i've tried).

Either use the XP settings, (which I found confusing) or the linksys ones by stopping and disabling the wireless zero config util.
