Portland Suburbs Quick Drive

Ok, I'm new here and to this whole wardriving scene. I live in Newberg, a relatively small town about 20 miles or so southwest of Portland.

Right now in this area wireless is HOT!! Those in the area familiar with Fry's in Wilsonville? Wireless routers, access points, cards, etc are dirt cheap. I picked up some wireless routers for $30 each, talk about a deal.

Anyway I decided to make a short trip around this small 15 to 20k population town. I only made about a 5 mile, maybe less loop, mostly in business areas with a few residential neighborhood/streets.

I was extremely impressed 53 wireless networks wow!! 40 unprotected, 13 with protection, 2 of which were mine.

Just makes me wonder how many might be in more residential part of town.

Done with network stumbler, sanao nl-2511cd plus ext2 with 2 small 2 db antennas connected directly to the card. My laptop was sitting in the passenger seat which also wasn't positioned very efficiently.
