T-Mobile air card

Was wondering if someone useing this wireless service, could someone find your location? As well could fakeap be used to loose yourself? Thanks for the time.

Not in the sense that you could be pinpointed in a crowded stadium (unless you look for the one clod holding a laptop,) but it's basically a cellphone, isn't it? It has almost nothing in common with 802.11.

You need to define the scenario better, maybe explain what you're trying to do.

Well T-Mobile uses the Sierra 750 aircard which is GPRS based which means that I have some more research to do as this, I believe is different from WiFi or is it? Leave it to a noob like me. If you want to add impute as to the nature of differences or simularities between GPRS and WiFi, Feel free, if not, to each his own and my research continues.

If it is GPRS, then essentially what you have is a cell phone modem.

802.11 is closer in operation to standard ethernet. Aside from those operational differences, WiFi uses different bands, different modulation, etc.

All it is a cellular modem card (PCMCIA)...

And bieng a Cellular device, YES you can be found by Triangulation.
It may take some time, but it's possible. Good news is that mostly
only the Telecom CO. can do this.
