If the APs don't broadcast beacons and no one happens to be using one of the scanner guns or a mobile register associated with that particular AP you won't pick anything up from the network. Even on the busiest days their wireless APs weren't handling a very high volume of traffic so it's possible that he was just there at the wrong time.

You can typically get a lot of traffic from the warehouses in the evenings or late at night as they scan all the cargo in the trucks and figure out where it's all going.

No, that's the weird thing I only got the one...

I might have to swing back there soon and see what I can find.

Kmart is a symbol shop. They us 3021-500's 2 mb AP's. As for WalMart not sure what they use, but I would be surprised to see them use cisco...

beg to differ, there at 11mbs last i heard and saw. They are using older versions of the symbol ap's. How do i know you ask? A few of my freinds were on the roll out and design teams for kmart when they rolled out ethernet and wireless into there stores.

Well, then explain why the stores they have closed thus far is all 2 mb 3021's (495 ap's total). How do i know you wonder... i was part of the team who removed them from the east coast stores... not saying they don't hve 11... but everything we pulled is all 2 mb..
