Bath Tub Signal Sucks
you know, i get the crappiest signal when i'm sitting in my bath tub trying to surf the net. i know what you guys are all thinking... "using your laptop around water could get you killed", but it's not like that at all. i'm just sitting in my bath tub to sit in it... i mean, it's a nice place to relax, it's always nice and cool, it's got great reverb though still somewhat quiet, nobody bothers me, etc.. however, i think the tub is killing my signal since my AP is downstairs. whatever happened to those tiny orinoco antennas you could snap on to your card? like the ones the ricochet guys had.... i want one.

Let us not wander into the query of what you are wearing while you surf in this bathtub that has no water... <perplexed look here> To each their own.... ![]()

don't down it til you tried it, unless it's sexual... but yeah, my bath tub is metal. i'm wearing what i always do, pink bunny suit with a clown afro and a tootoo. ;-) nah, normal clothes, not that it'd make much of a difference. ....unless it was one of those expensive shirts with the titanium threads that make it so you don't have to iron... but it's not. i think it's mainly due to the verticle signal loss overhead, no pun intended, and the metal bath tub. see, that's where an antenna comes in handy... if i had a mag mount antenna i could just mount it on the side of the tub. that'd be uber sweet. i think i might have to buy one so i can quit questioning wether or not i should buy one, then deciding i should but not doing it.

I hope you've already had children.
I wouldn't like to think what's happening with all those radio waves bouncing around you in that bath with no escape. Soft tissues are damaged by the absorbtion of such radiowaves. But don't have nightmares ![]() |

shit, i better not go out in the sun either, or use my cell phone, or turn on the light. come to think of it, if i don't want to be "damaged" by radio waves i should just kill myself right now. actually though, i do see your point. clearly this is the strongest 2.4ghz signal around or else i wouldn't be able to get online at all. however, i think the constand bombardment of electromagnetic rays that i get from everything else supercedes the signal i get from my wireless card bouncing around the tub. plus, i only sit in there when i'm bored outta my freakin mind... perhaps i should move to the closet in the land of spare oom.

Hey man, I'm just joking you. I was reading today that a wirless card emmits less than a microwave can legally leak. I dont know if thats true but I wouldn't be surprised.
Its also a lot safer than sitting in a bath full of water whilst browsing. |

cool, pillows.... you know, i bet those big round jaccuzi tubs would be great. my parents have one that's plastic so it won't resequence my DNA with bouncy signals. i might have to try it next time i'm there...

I could see using the laptop on the toilet, or in a tub WITH WATER, but sitting in a tub without water is just not natural. It's not american damnit! If I didn't know you I would say that this idea was induced by drugs.
