Cantenna for WarDriving

Although I didn't build it for WarDriving, some initial results from this cantenna suggest that it is as effective, at least in low-rise environments, as a low-gain omni.

Maybe I'm confusing designs but I thought the Cantenna antenna were just a metal can with a probe in the side. That doesn't look to be metal, so I'm assuming it is more the design of the pringles type antenna but with a different size container. Or am I just completely botching my identification?

Nevermind. I just looked at the link and noticed it was foil lined.

It's pretty much the same sort of foil as a Pringles. Which is perhaps just the debate over what a Pringles is: yagi or a waveguide with a bunch of fairly usless stuff inside?

I'm curious - that cantenna's mounted on the rollcage of what vehicle? For starter's it's RHD, and although it appears to be a "street" car - at the same time it appears to be custom built.

At least you didn't call it a kit car!! "Low Flying"

Oldies will recall it as the Lotus 7.

If you recognise it as a Lotus 7 - you're an oldie. If you weren't you'd think Caterham Super 7.

And in my book there's nothing wrong with "kit cars" - mine was a Marcos - and I one day hope to build a GT40 "replica" because there's no way I can ever own the real mccoy
