Car Crash
Helloooo all,
About a week ago, I was in a nasty car accident. My steering column broke on a country lane, the car vered to the side of the road, and I was unable to control it. The car then went up and long the verge for around 100 metres taking down fence posts and foliage eventually tipped onto its roof and spun round, wrapped in barbed wire. It was quite a shock as I've never had anything like that happen, and I was fine, and so was my 6 month old son who was strapped in the car (and suspended upside down still in his car seat by the end of it). I wasn't wardriving at the time, but did have all my kit in the car, laptop under the seat, inverter in the glove box and gps and antenna on the roof. When the car turned over my son nearly got hit by the laptop (the bar across his seat prevented that) and i nearly got a black eye from the inverter but it just missed. I went to hospital with my son for a check-up and spoke to the police etc, and the car was written off, however quite amazingly all my wardriving equipment survived. The gps (haicom mouse), although quite scratched still works, the antenna got a slight kink in it, which easily straightened out (although its probably badly affected), my laptop has a crack along the bottom of it, but again works fine, as does the inverter, which I was quite surprised about. I would heartly recommend to all your wardrivers to tie/bolt/stick down your kit as my son could have been seriously injured by a flying laptop had we not been fortunate, you never know when something like that might happen to you, so its worth putting your safety first. Hope my experience helps someone! BM Pic of the car when put back onto its wheels just before being scrapped: ![]()

By the look of that hood and windshield I'm wondering how far away the deer ended up?
Haven't every crashed that hard but my brother hit a patch of black ice at 70 and took his 97 Grand Prix into the center ditch. He said when it went airborn it got real quiet. Having lowered the vehicle 2 inches probably saved him from rolling it. While waiting for the Police and a tow truck two other motorists spun out but not as excitingly as him. This happened late at night so there wasn't much traffic thankfully. About half hour later the tow truck arrives and almost goes off road several times. So, my brother and the tow truck driver are hitching up the car and the see the lights of the State Trooper in the distance, on the other side of the highway, approaching at a VERY high rate of speed. They look at each other and the tow truck driver says to my brother, "Run, he ain't gonna make!" They high tail it out the median just in time and sure enough the trooper hits some more black ice, goes through the median, hits the other side, goes airborn, flips over and hits a telephone poll on the side of the highway upside down. My brother and the tow truck driver run over, sliding on the ice and nearly falling over. They ask the trooper if he's alright, he's alright just some scratches. They help him out of the car. The trooper looks at his car upside down wrapped around the telephone pole and says, "The sarge isn't going to like this." He sends out a warning to the Sarge to take it real slow. At that point the trooper was more worried about securing the shotgun that was hanging off the open trunk lid. My brother never asked why. So, flares were put out to warn motorists and the tow truck got my brother's car pulled out of the median and he drove home. Not much damage was done to the car except the catalytic converters were crushed. BTW, the Sarge was real pissed when did arrive, I think the trooper got desk duty for awhile.
