Nothing like a low-profile approach.

My setup;
Laptop & Car 1: Compaq Armada M300 Windows XP Linksys WPC11 v3 (My Orinoco died, long story) Earthmate GPS (with the GST-1) In a 1988 Mazda MX6 Turbo (2.2FI), with the WPC, the Sunroof helps a lot. (Less metal). Its my fav car, fast, still looks nice (even tho the old year) and has *COLD* A/C (new system) Laptop & Car 2: Toshiba Satellite 3000-S304 Windows XP Linksys WPC11 v3 Tripmate GPS In a 1995 Pontaic Grand AM SE (Quad4). Still has pretty good pickup, but sometimes I don't detect the APs that I do in the mazda. Laptop & Car 3: Compaq Armada E500 Windows Longhorn XP w/MediaCenter Linksys WPC11 v3 Earthmate GPS (no GST-1 on this one) In a 1991 Dodge Caravan, because of the location, it still has pretty good pickup, this van actually has the whole in-car computer thing, which is the original reason for the wireless (So I can upload mp3s to it from the house, or do updates and such). I use the Earthmate with the Delorme software for trip nav and such, use mediacenter for playing mp3s, movies, etc. All these setups are using NetStumbler. Pictures coming soon.

Finally.. I get to post my pics
Just go to this link, too numerous to list gear. Read the info or just scroll down to the links at the bottom of the page.
http://www.amilabs.com/rooftopstumblerproject.htm This was done in April but finally got around to documenting it and posting the pics on the web site. Regards... /JS
