Back to the Display Pavilion. Had to come to the room to dump some of the vendor-provided beer. It's going to be a loooong evening.

Dirty job, but somebody has to do it. Hic.

The closest beach to me right now is about 400 miles away. No beach goers this time of year, or any time really.

Yeah, that solid water is pretty hard to swim in!

I'll give one anyway. Proving that the Darwin theory might actually have some truthful components therein.

Well I have the pigtails mounted. Unfortunately I drilled holes for four cards and only bought enough pigtails for two.. I'm using aluminum U channel to mount the board in the case. The board and power supply should be here tomorrow. Now I need to see if I can hack my display to work straight off the power supply, skipping it's own 110v to 12v power supply.

Well that display won't work. Off to find a display that accepts 12 volt dc for power.

Well so far so good! It's currently booting off the thumb drive. I still have to fab out a place to mount the drive. I'm thinking under the wireless cards. I still need to pick up a display. I've found a couple 10 inch touch screens that will run off DC that look pretty good. The pci adapter is taller than I thought though. It's going to make fabbing out a cover pretty tough. It almost makes it to the top edge of the bottom case. I think I have a single pci adapter in my parts bin though.

It was the Dell truemobile 1150 out of my laptop. Linux kernel 2.6.20. For now it's running Backtrack2. I need to build myself a usb cdrom drive and I'll probably throw Ubuntu on it. At the moment I'm thinking hardware problem. The pci to mini pci card came with no paperwork. The lights only light up for one of the wifi cards.

Add "pci=assign-busses" to the kernel init params.

It's the Mini-PCI to PCI bridge that has a problem. The pci=assign-busses param should fix it.

Nope, no joy. I'm still thinking it's a jumper setting on the board.

Standard debugging time : Get on MSN, then tell me the output of lspci -nn in the following cases :
No cards in the adapter.
Both cards in the adapter.
1 card in the adapter (remove the nonworking card from the both cards scenario).
1 card in the adapter (move the working card to the other slot).

You ofcourse have tried swapping the cards in the slots, to see if it is only one slot, or only one card that works ?
