Small setup - Ipaq
Well, I think Mini-Stumbler is pretty cool. I have an Ipaq with a 1-PCMCIA card battery pack and an Orinoco card. Of course I'm running Mini-Stumbler.
Something else that I just got is CESniffer 3.1 from www.epiphian.com. It's an evaluation version and you get these annoying adveritsements for the $249 version pretty often. It also will only go into promiscuous mode for a few seconds. That's enough time to prove that it works but really not be able to do much with it. It seems like the promiscuous mode timeout varries - I've seen 17 to 50 seconds. I'm gonna have a hard time justifying $249 for a sniffer for my Ipqa. I have a BSD laptop that can sniff and do raw promiscuous mode and has a LOT more storage capacity. I do think I'll play with this in a pinch though. It'd definitely be nice addition. |

Here's where to get CENiffer
Here is a location other than the main site where you can download both the 1.0 and 3.1beta versions of the software:
http://volftp.mondadori.com/e/liste/liste/wince_comunicazione_vari-1.htm Still no luck on a registration key. BTW, I have successfully sniffed non-WEP 802.11b traffic with a Prism-II card on a laptop running OpenBSD. It took a bit of playing with the prism settings from bsd-airtools, but it does work, and the software is free. |
