Hi all!
Posted some results in the 'Other Stumblers' section, and promised to add my setup here. So far, only the lappy and card, but i will hopefully get a pigtail and external ant. as soon as I can! (its a tad difficult when you live in the UK and dont have any way to pay in US $ though!) Card: Dell Truemobile 1150 PC Card (rebadged Orinoco Gold I believe). Purchased of eBay for around £40. Bargain. Laptop: Bit special this. Was given to me by a friend who works in a large multi-nation company. It was bought in Malaysia I think, but was no use to him because of the Jap '95 install and lack of english docs. or a CD-Drive. ![]() NEC Mobio NX, Pentium 120MHZ MMX, 32MB ram, 1Gb hdd. PC card slot, IR, docking station, battery and floppy. Runs win98 / PeanutLinux. Netstumbler works fantastically, ran with card the first time! I plug headphones in, drop it in a bag, and walk around town! I dont drive, but still pick up a lot of APs on the bus and on my walks. Oh, and well done on the great community here - good advice, friendly users....keep it up!! Nick |
