TechnoGecko's NS Setup
Sorry for the delay in these photos. It just got dark here, so I managed to hold the digital camera in one hand and use the flashlight in the other. With a little tweaking with the brightness in Photoshop I was all set. I will post better more accurate pictures soon, these are just to keep you eager minded people at rest. Enjoy!

kool pix, gecko.
just a couple of notes about the etrex...having it in the center of the car like that isn't the best positioning for the GPS signal...it needs a clear view of the sky. you'll get more accurate fixes and faster initial fix if you put it somewhere like the dash. also there is an advanced sky view mode which gives you positions of the satellites in the sky, # satellites & relative signal strength...if your etrex doesn't have it you can d/l the latest f/w from garmin and update it.

http://shop.garmin.com/accessory.jsp...0%2D10361%2D00 Got a funky, contoured dash that won't allow you to mount your eTrex level? Solution: suction cup mount. Stick mount to the inside of the windshield or window and snap eTrex into place. Bracket is jointed, so you can adjust to your heart's content and get the unit out of direct sunlight. 010-10361-00 $31.80

That was a screen from the Garmin eTrex Legend aka The Blue One for anyone who doesn't know I use this model. Too pricey for just Stumbling in my book, but at the time I didn't know better.

Ya, the GPS just sits in the middle of the car for right now. Ive go the mount for the dashboard, however the sticky pad needs to be replaced, and since my GPS cable isnt here yet it dosent really matter. Either way, it'll get dash mounted. You also gotta remember the top on this car is only cloth, so its not like a car or truck where the signal is affected that much by being in the center of the car. In fact, ive found it works equally well in both places, however its easier to see from the dash. Just waiting on my GPS cable....
